Machine shops & specialties (coming)
Find real shops. Use real shop math.
MachineShop.Pro is becoming a practical directory of machine shops and what they do — capabilities, processes, and specialties you can source against, the way production buyers and job-shop leads search today.
What you can use right now: five free calculators for working CNC machinists and programmers — setup trig, bolt circles, speeds and feeds, and inch/metric for prints and tooling. Built for the floor (Haas NGC mindset is fine); not for hobby makers, and not an OEM manual library.
Verify results at the machine before you cut. These calculators are not a substitute for your control documentation, work instructions, or shop standards.
Shop Trig
Right-triangle sides and angles for setups, tapers, and sine-bar style work.
Right triangle: angle A is opposite side a; angle B opposite side b. C is the 90° corner between sides a and b. Enter any two known values.
Enter at least two values (sides and/or acute angles).
Bolt Circle
Hole count, pitch circle diameter, and start angle → X/Y from your part zero.
Convention: part zero origin · X/Y in table below · angles CCW from +X (hole 1 at start angle)
Enter hole count, PCD, and start angle.
SFM ↔ RPM
Spindle speed from cutter diameter and surface speed (inch or metric).
Imperial: diameter in in · speed as SFM (ft/min) · not Vc
Enter diameter (in) and SFM (ft/min).
Chip Load / Feed
Feed rate from chipload, flutes, and RPM — or work backward to chipload.
Feed = chip load × flutes × RPM. Use IPT/IPM or mm/tooth and mm/min consistently.
Fill in flutes, RPM, and the value you know.
Inch ↔ Metric
Length and thread pitch conversions for prints, taps, and tooling.
